Why are you charging for shipping in BackerKit instead of Kickstarter?
By calculating and charging shipping after the campaign in BackerKit, we’ll be able to get you a more accurate (and hopefully lower) shipping rate on your final pile of rewards. It’s the way a lot of Kickstarter campaigns are being run now, and it seems to work better for everyone.

Shipping Estimates for one Hardcover Edition
The following are estimates only and include both shipping and handling. The final price shown at checkout in BackerKit may increase if stretch goals make an impact on total weight of your pledge. In addition, any add-ons selected (if available) during the survey process in BackerKit may cause an increase in the total cost of shipping.
- All rewards will be shipped from within the US. US prices include both Hawaii and Alaska. **Street addresses only, please. PO Boxes don’t always play nicely with packages. **Note: Any and all fees levied by your local country customs are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Refunds will not be offered for packages rejected for customs fees. Furthermore, if shipping costs for physical versions are unpaid in BackerKit after survey deadlines, we will reduce your physical reward pledge to the digital reward pledge. A refund for the difference will not be offered. We will, however, work with you to get you your proper rewards should you contact us after the pledge manager closes, so don’t lose hope. We’re not monsters–we just sent one backer their rewards from a campaign we ran six years ago.

Can I use a fulfillment service to get a package to my country?
We’ve heard that this is a thing, and, If you wish, you may choose to use a fulfillment service. This allows you to pledge for the project and then provide us with a U.S. address for the delivery of your rewards. Forwarding from the fulfillment service, as well as any local fees, is your responsibility when using a fulfillment company.

Can I pay extra to upgrade to a faster service like DHL or UPS?
If you would like to pay extra to upgrade your shipment to a faster carrier like DHL or UPS, contact us! We may be able to set something up for you. Regular USPS shipping can take a while to some countries, and I know some of you have asked about this.
We occasionally use these services anyway, for instance, when we’re shipping a big box with lots of books, like the All the Epic set. Basically, if you want a specific shipping service, talk to us. We should be able to work with you to give you a quote.

What happened to the medals and pins you usually do?
We are working to get our shipping time down, so backers don’t have to wait so long to get their books. Making this Kickstarter all flat things will speed us up a lot! Later this year, we’ll do another crowdfunding campaign for our new pins, patches and other fun extras. We’ll make a lot of noise about it when we do, never fear! You’re unlikely to miss it.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
